There is no better time than now to set out to find the perfect summer party dress.
I have gone for this sharp and stylish JAEGER Racer back pleat dress with directional dart details that give it a sporty chic spin. I love its fit and flare line and leg-lengthening hemline, it is so flattering and on-trend as well!
I kicked it off with a pair of Preen for Aldo Pravda Rise pumps featuring a pointy toe, patchwork leather detail and bold block heels that not only elongate your legs, but also keep feet comfortable.
I cannot resist but to feature yet another of my favourite party dresses– this Robert Rodriguez black seamed leather dress strikes with its simplicity and flawless design. This stretch-lamb skin leather dress features a scoop neck, raw edges and on-seam hip pockets with hidden back zip. Even though lined, it is so lightweight that you almost don’t feel it on. Perfect for a summer party!
I finished the look off with JASON WU Marlene black studded platform sandals I wore last weekend for an all-night party and I must say the heels add a hefty dose of edge and sexiness to an ensemble. Surprisingly, even with an ultra-high heel, they are comfortable enough to dance the night away!
This VINCE Silk Satin Shift Dress in Dusty Rose is not far down on my list of perfect summer party dresses. Featuring V-neck, cap sleeves and pleating to the back, it is so comfortable yet stylish. If you don’t like the billowy dresses, clinch your waist with a contrast skinny belt. This wardrobe staple channels the casual New York look so well.
On a note of footwear I went for yet another American designer – these Joie Caviar Suede ‘say It Ain’t So’ Lace-Up Zip Peep Toe Booties deliver the ultimate cool factor. With leather cuffed opening, lace-up vamp and tapered round peep toe, slip them on for a “party time” fashion statement.
See By Chloẻ does some amazing summer party dresses. This Butterflies Black Printed Silk Dress is no exception. Made from light and soft silk, it combines a sophisticated clean cut with a beautiful butterfly print. Colourful but not over the top, with lace fastening detailing on the front! I put this feminine elegance against Stella McCartney Zip-trimmed faux leather ankle boots for an unexpected shot of glamour and the edge.
Straight from the lookbook!
On to discussing a more subtle party dress, here is a super cute sleeveless sailor dress from Boutique by Jaeger – a classic shift shape falling to the knee, this dress has nautical detailing at the collar and a nipped waist which gives it that sporty twist. If you are lucky enough to pull off a drop-waist, this could be your perfect summer dress. There is something exuberantly elegant about this sailor dress, somehow it manages to be modern with that touch of vintage, don’t you just love it!
Floral print is the theme of today – in full bloom for as long as we can remember. Florals are all about having fun with fashion and embracing the joy and romance of spring and perhaps this is why the floral trend is the one that just won’t go away.
I have gone for the feminine Boutique by Jaeger floral Jacquard 60s dress. This simple shift really packs a vintage style punch and it is exactly what you fancy on a hot summer day. It is made from Biba style jacquard fabric which is heavily embellished with a tiny floral design in blues, acid greens & yellows, cut with the 60s mini hemline and high neckline. I love it! I accessorised the dress with MAWI Green oversized stone clip-on earrings, Links of London emerald sterling silver ring and L.K. Bennett “SCRUPLE” patent nude peep toe pumps. They go with pretty much everything!
This gorgeous Pied a Terre printed shirt is of the most striking quality, soft and breathable, the beautiful floral print in green with bursts of pink and white creates a nice contrast. Very wearable as it only requires a gentle hand wash! I wear it tucked into this sophisticated ivory Jaeger bow front skirt for a summer party . You can team it up with a tailored trouser for work.
