Leather in the City – T by Alexander Wang panelled leather mini dress

No doubt, the summer is in full swing and all these lovely summer dresses are finally out! I have a special sentiment to this T BY ALEXANDER WANG Panelled leather mini dress that I bought the other day from the Outnet. I love its’ simplicity, clean design and a very on trend gray green colour. Time and time again, Wang’s design does not disappoint, and this hip New York sibling label T by Alexander Wang is my go-to label for cool urban classics.P1010914P1010909P1010931P1010919P1010920I have opted for these Alexander Wang Maja pleated suede and patent-leather pumps to complement the look. Again, the striking pleated suede, cut-out side and an open pointed toe make these pumps even more appealing, channelling Wang’s enticing nonchalance.P1010923P1010928P1010924P1010921P1010929Sunglasses are another hot commodity this summer. Today, I have chosen these Matthew Williamson oversized peach shades with purple lenses. They look fresh and glamorous, as you would expect from this London-based designer admired for his masterful use of colour.P1010947P1010944P1010948P1010951

Summer edit on the go

So, last weekend I went to Paris and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to take some nice shots. Here is a small preview of my summer edit on the go.

One of my recent, most cherished purchases is this lovely pair of Alexander Wang Masha Glossed-leather mules. It’s quite difficult to find minimal looking pieces that are unique but still feel new, and these Wang’s are exactly that. Having read a lot of reviews, I opted for a larger size UK  5 instead of my usual size 4, and they fit perfectly which I am so pleased with. I love the inset strap that wraps around the back of the heel and a single sole with a leather wrap. Simple, versatile and super stylish. Think of them as an alternative to the omnipresent ankle-strap sandals, and wear with everything from cocktail dresses to simple separates.

I went with this bold and simple cobalt blue Bodice Bandeau Dress by JAEGER London. Straight from the catwalk, and frequently featured in Grazia and Guardian, this stunning strapless dress is a show stopper. It is the perfect dress to be seen in for a special day out with its cute pronounced bustier and an unusual unfolding A-line shape.

Summer is the best time to show off this Love Moschino Multicolour Charming Girl Print silk Bag featuring gold-tone woven chain handles with a zipped interior pocket. I love the illustrated girl print design and its luxuriously soft silky feel. It is bound to add charm to any outfit.

For a stand-out look, I have opted for these two-tone Alexander McQueen ivory sunglasses with shaded lenses that I snapped from YOOX.com. and they are still available on sale.

Perfect summer outfit – Voilà!

There was nowhere to hide from pony skin last winter. As a result, pony skin was the most sought-after textile of the season which brings me to this hot to trot Hobbs London Ivette Top. Perfect for day or night, the ponyskin feel is luxurious to the eye and touch while the T-shirt design gives it a nonchalant edge.
But how to wear it? With texture, very much like print, mixing things up is key, so don’t be afraid to clash. Leather trousers look great, I paired it with bright Fuchsia Marc By Marc Jacobs peep toe shoes.
I really like its soft leather varnished effect and covered cone heel. The pumps look and feel great, still on sale at Yoox.

Cocktail Dress Edit #1 ROKSANDA ILINCIC Cotton and crepe cut-out dusky rose dress

London-based designer Roksanda Ilincic is definitely a go-to brand for elegant, contour-like cocktail dresses with contemporary attitude that certainly make a lasting impression.
This Roksanda Ilincic Cotton and crepe cut-out dusky rose dress strikes with simplicity with a twist.
I really like the unassuming black cotton sleeves and breast pockets with neon-green trims and unexpected cross-over panels at cut-out back.

Cocktail Dress Edit #2 Day Birger et Mikkelsen Day paisley scarf dress

I bought this Day Birger et Mikkelsen Day paisley scarf dress a while ago but I keep coming back to it for various occasions. Being 100% silk and unlined, it is extraordinarily light and very forgiving. The floating cut will not show any of your body imperfections.

Cocktail Dress Edit #3 Day Birger et Mikkelsen Gathered Silk Dress

This is yet another dress from my Day Birger et Mikkelsen collection. With loose fit it is very easy to wear and accessorise. This Gathered Silk Dress features a front draping and elaborate waist bead detailing. In a must-have now forest green, be an eye catching silhouette at cocktail hour.
I styled it with L.K. Bennett Gracia Pistachio heels.

Cocktail Dress Edit #4 JAEGER bold yellow Crescent dress

I am back to my wardrobe staple brand JAEGER – this time we are talking shift dresses with ladylike charm…
The bold yellow Crescent dress with the cut-out design undoubtedly captures attention. Impeccably tailored, it features a panel detail at the waist and cut-work on the hem. The dress is a statement in itself so don’t over-accessorise. I have teamed it with warm tone burgundy L.K. Bennett patent leather pumps to allow the details to standout.

Cocktail Dress Edit #5 Bastyan Danae Drape Dress

Bastyan is the hot new British label that delivers high-end quality at high street prices. It has won me over with luxurious fabrics, sloping, flattering silhouettes and fantastic attention to detail.
This Bastyan Danae Drape Dress in Ginger hue is a vibrant stretch silk dress featuring  draping and a cowl neck together with gathered knot detail at the front.
I like the soft metallic sheen to the fabric, contrasting black trim to the neckline and sleeves,  as well as a black trimmed exposed back zip fastening at the back.Bastyan should be sought out by every woman who likes the quality of investment dressing without the hype and for pieces that don’t dictate a style but are still cutting-edge cool.

Maison du Posh Embellished metallic python clutch

This Amsterdam-based designer Maison du Posh is my new favourite for wow-worthy clutches with a rock ‘n’ roll attitude. I absolutely adore the crystal-embellished gold knuckle handle that combines fashion with function making the clutch so easy to hold. This mesmerising metallic bronze python exterior is the short cut way to inject the new season into your wardrobe.
The finest materials and rigorous attention to detail are definitely its trademarks.
