Royal Fashion Day @Middle Temple Hall – LFW 2015

London Fashion Week 2015 is officially over. What a whirlwind of events it has been! Having got myself immersed in all the designer glamour, the glitz of shows and catwalks, I feel all but a bit deflated being back in the ordinary world.

What is the best way to keep these marvelous memories going but to write about what I loved the most about this superb fashion event?

In partnership with London London – for me – LFW started with Royal Fashion Day held in the historical rooms at Middle Temple Hall nearby the fashionably famous Somerset House.

For the occasion, I went head-to-toe in Alexander Wang. I paired this gorgeous Micro-paisley jacquard dress with Alexander Wang Racketeer Sling small calf hair shoulder bag and Alexander Wang
Daga stretch-mesh ankle boots.

For the opening of London Fashion Week, Holding-London with Luxberry and Privilege Entertainment  in collaboration with the British Fashion Council gathered some of the very best emerging brands from London and Europe, never seen on the UK market and presented them to the British fashion industry. Four  up-and-coming designers, Black Rose Collection, Elena Rul, Innu, and Reka Orosz, presented their new collection and here is a run-down of my favourite pieces.

Temperley London A/W15 LFW Collection

I am catching my breath half way though the London Fashion Week 2015. What a fantastic three days it has been! This is Britain’s most exclusive and fashion event organised by British Fashion Council brimming with a list of world-famous designer catwalks and showrooms keeps attracting style-savvy fashion lovers looking to get their Fall/Winter wardrobe fix from over 100 of the county’s brightest and best designers.
I loved every minute at Somerset House amongst world class emerging talent and catwalk world-famous ready-to-wear designer shows spread across London.

This afternoon, in collaboration with London London, I had the pleasure to attend Temperley London Winter 2015 Collection catwalk show that I wanted to share with you today.

In 2015, Alice Temperley has entered her 15th year of business heading up this long standing independent British luxury brand. Her Winter 2015 Collection features luxurious and laid-back glamour of feminine romantic looks with monochrome and high-octane fabrics and stunning tribal inspired patterns of red, blue and gold prints.

With Sophie Dahl at the catwalk’s forefront, Temperley does not disappoint in floor sweeping floaty dresses and jumpsuits that provide an easy and elegant alternative to gowns, bold floral embroidery on velvet and opulent sheer chiffon, not to mention, the show-stopping dense matte silver sequined culotte suit.

The designer made London Fashion Week even more inclusive and accessible by putting on a runaway two pregnant models alongside models of different ages ultimately reiterating who her target audience is!

My absolute favourite was the folksy, almost nomadic bold geometric print full-length dress with a pastel fur shawl.

Shearling Wonderland

This season designers have gone gaga over the shearling and fluffy coats in all forms and shapes.

To me, shearling is the autumn’s equivalent of the leather jacket so it has indeed become my winter wardrobe staple. Shearling permeates every major trend this season: oversized, folk ’70s, utilitarian, you name it. So I guess, the question is not if you are going to be wearing shearling, but how you will be wearing shearling this season. Luckily, the answer is – any way you want! If you, like me – love being warm and fashionable at the same time (and it is not always easy) you will most likely be the proud owner of at least a few of these beauties in different colours and shapes.
However, there is always the possibility that the idea of a shearling coat simply does not appeal to you or is just too much for you you. No need to fret, you can always acknowledge the trend via accessories, shearling-lined buckled boots, shearling tote, shearling scarf, everything goes!
In my shearling extravaganza, I went for this gorgeous Karl Donoghue Belted shearling-trimmed leather coat I picked up from theOutnet.

Karl Donoghue is one of many talented British designers who started his label in 1995, creating super soft and tactile ready-to-wear and accessories from the finest shearling and leather. Inspired by natural skins and their unique qualities, his cozy-chic collection of shearling leather and sumptuous fur has me fallen head over heels for his designs.

This shearling coat has been handcrafted in England. The soft beige and gray hues make it go with everything from denim to tailored trousers. I love the sumptous shearling collar, buckled waist belt and asymmetric zip through front. The sheared shearling interior makes it even more desirable!

Mary Katrantzou – best known for her breakthrough prints – is one of my favorite Birish designers. This Athens-born Wunderkind, launched her eponymous label in 2008, showcasing a perfect balance of flawless tailoring, structured shapes, intelligent use of digital patterns and daring kaleidoscopic prints.
Her creations are truly works of art and this Black MVK Small Verde handbag is no exception.
Rendered in rich tri-tone leather, this small bag is perfect for holding all your essentials and a high-style choice for teaming up with printed separates. Made in neutral earthy tones of nougat, black and ivory leather, it features a square body, front flap close with two internal compartments and a detachable strap so can be used as a clutch. I love the structured design and ultra chic look that oozes sophistication! One of my favourite bags to date! I am slowly collecting her treasured designs in my wardrobe so brace yourself for more of her hyper-real prints and daring designs!

The perfect dress

What is a perfect dress? Short, long, fitted, loose, to me, the perfect dress takes many forms and shapes but they all have one common denominator – once you slip into it, it is like your second skin. Even without accessorising, you instantaneously feel like a million dollars and that’s what it’s all about!

IMG_1019

This Alexander Wang Micro-paisley jacquard dress is one of my perfect dresses.
Simple cut, gorgeous burgundy silk-blend paisley jacquard print and comfy feel make it a cool, new-season cocktail dress. The shoulders are slightly padded to make a statement at the long sleeves and the side-seam pockets give it a sporty feel.

Add chic court heels to complete the look.
Gianvito Rossi‘s pumps are timeless so go for it and mirror Cinderella enchantment with these Plexi clear PVC heels. Panelled with two tone, black and Bordeaux patent leather and transparent sides, this pair is a charming complement for both your office and off-duty styles.
Gianvito Rossi says that “the real luxury of shoes lies in the pleasure of slipping them on” and these pumps are without a doubt an epitome of this statement oozing sophistication and femininity.

The Wang Way

Alexander Wang is one of the most dropped names in fashion circles admired for mixing cutting-edge designs with a laid-back attitude. I love Alexander Wang’s style for blending classic and refined silhouettes with an industrial edge, innovative cut and urban sensibility. His clothes are at all times luxurious, but also provocative, inspiring and wearable.

I opted for this style-meets-function statement-making Alexander Wang dark-gray wool-blend twill coat with weather-ready collar I picked up at Net-a-Porter.

The utility pocket was a major detail on the Alexander Wang A/W14 runway, and this cargo coat comes fully equipped, designed to hold all your daily life essentials.  It is finished with a neon-green corduroy collar and multiple, moulded pockets and a lightly padded quilted neon yellow lining.

I love the structured shoulders and a boxy cut that I balanced with these show-stopping Lys Polished leather ankle boots also by Alexander Wang.

There is something incredibly satisfying about wearing his heels, not only does Wang create most coveted accessories each season, but this time he also incorporates the runaway’s utilitarian feel injecting a dose of futuristic style into otherwise, daily-wear pieces.
These super cool Lys boots are crafted from polished-leather with an exaggerated, shield-like front panel. Finished with a well-balanced ostrich-effect heel, this backless,  gorgeous pair look best with shorter hemlines.

It is a much coveted and instantly recognisable cult bag featuring a classic satchel form with rock chic style including silver studded base and red pebbled-leather  The iconic bristle studded hardware and duffle-like shape give this fashionista must-have a very sought-after look,
For a hands-free style, carry it by the optional shoulder strap.
