Thanks to its associations with warm mulled wine, burgundy feels like the perfect hue for this time of year. Throw in a big helping of grey and you have a colour combo that is quickly becoming a fashionista’s favourite.
Opening Ceremony Purple Cash Three Button Overcoat
Marco De Vincenzo Metallic Stiped Sweater
Laurent Decade Haircalf Patchwork leather ankle boots
Mary Katrantzou MVK Burgundy small bag
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!
As we are now looking forward to the New Year’s celebrations, here is an idea of what to wear in the meantime!
Alexander Wang wool-blend tweed coat
Alexander Wang Lys polished-leather ankle boots
Marco de Vincenzo rainbow glitter pleated skirt
Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote
I never get tired of monochrome – casting off the Sixties connotations, monochrome is all about pattern play, couture detailing, geometrics and intelligent design! Add on a splash of colour to match your mood.
Christopher Kane Layered silk-organza shirt
Marco de Vincenzo mohair mini skirt
Sophia Webster Portia patent-leather T-bar pumps
Acne Studios Akoya snake-effect leather and Perspex box clutch
So my shearling extravaganza continues past London Fashion Week.
If you are a forward-planning person like myself, you would have undoubtedly got yourself a shearling or two by now, I always buy out of season and purchasing at least one was a no–brainer to me.
I still can’t get enough of this gorgeous Isabel Marant Drew belted shearling jacket I picked up on Net-a-Porter sale.
Personally, I like oversized jackets but if you are at all on the curvy side, you need to be careful of appearing too bulky.
Isabel Marant‘s signature boho-chic ecru jacket was the killer look on the FW14 runway.
I love the way Marant mixes this shorter jacket up with a curly shearling body and smooth fur sleeves.
The fine detachable leather belt is a key element of the designer’s shearling look that cinches in the waist for a more fitted and flattering silhouette.
This ‘Sienna’ skirt perfectly captures Isabel Marant‘s bohemian spark. Crafted in an off-white cream soft knitted alpaca and wool blend with an instantly recognizable geometric print, it features a wrap front to sit slightly asymmetric that ties up both ends so you decide how fitted you want it to be.
I attempted to capture some of that stunning runway spirit but instead of furry boots I went for these sleek Bottega Veneta Nero Suede Boots I got from MyTheresa.
And they do make a statement adding a dash of playful originality! They caught my eye at Milan Fashion Week last season. Expertly crafted in Italy they show off an elegant silhouette contrasted against a whimsical flame-like cut out design to the ankle, adding a touch of drama. They look best with bare legs or thin tights!
I accesorised with my favourite designer – Alexander Wang.
There is something mesmerising about this amazing Alexander Wang Rocketeer glossed-leather satchel I picked up on theOutnet.
I could not stop looking at it when I first got it, admiring the beauty of the design, superb leather quality and the complicated curved lines that very much remind me of the forgotten shape of an accordion.
The bag features one open central section and two tab-fastening side compartments. The satchel is undoubtedly in the list of my top 10 favourite bags to date.
I could not forget my RayBan Wayfarers!
