Burgundy and Grey

Thanks to its associations with warm mulled wine, burgundy feels like the perfect hue for this time of year. Throw in a big helping of grey and you have a colour combo that is quickly becoming a fashionista’s favourite.

The burst of orange

When it comes to fashion, I always get excited with bursts of bright colours. Perhaps, this is why I love this outfit; bold, funky and it makes me smile!

P1060753

This Carven bright orange Faux fur-trimmed wool blend coat combines elegant cuts with directional detailing, it is one of those off-the-wall jackets with a Parisian twist, either you love it or hate it!.
I like its loose fit, detachable collar, buttoned flap pockets and zipped back vent.

I matched orange with yellow going for this Jonathan Saunders Maryse knitted cotton sweater.

The fluorescent peach and yellow juxtaposed against black ribbed trims create an almost intoxicating pattern that you just can’t stop looking at. It is without a doubt, one of my favourite jumpers.

Create a vibrant, off-duty look and team it with leather pants and soaring heels.
Black leather pants always go extraordinarily well with bright tops so I went with these Marc Jacobs Mirah leather trousers with skinny-leg and a horizontal knee-seam.

Bloggers Love Hub event -10th November – Kanaloa

On 10th November I was invited to join Bloggers and Brands at Bloggers Love Hub invent at Kanaloa Club in London.

P1060375

As always, it was a perfect opportunity to dress up so I opted for this gorgeous Alexander Wang black leather dress I picked up on Yoox sale.
Made from mid-weight non-stretchy lamb leather, it is perfect for the colder months paired with boots and a coat. I am particularly fond of the deep liquorice colour and this dress can just do the trick for an edgy day look, or a sultry night dress-up.

P1060369

I have teamed it up with Marc Jacobs block heel ankle boots I also picked up on Yoox and contrasted the outfit with this super slick EREMETT pink Stingray Leather Clutch.

The  event showcased the brands I had a chance to meet at the previous events organised by Bloggers Love including, Kisses by Coco, Want Her Dress, Glowbeads and Scarves BY MY.

P1060347

Kisses by Coco is a label set up by Nonto Li and an online boutique selling feminine and stylish pieces. My favorite was this monochrome jacket.

P1060354

This time round, I had an opportunity to talk to Carol Hanson – the founder of Want her Dress – an online shopping destination for trend-led women with a flair for fashion that offers very wearable and affordable pieces of clothing and accessories.

P1060356

P1060357

Scarves By My was another brand I am very fond of. Their beautiful, digital print scarves combining a beauty of luxurious silk and craftsmanship of design, make a perfect treat for yourself or a cool present for the family fashionista.

P1060379

P1060380

Heidi & Adele is an up-and-coming luxury label offering gorgeous and super stylish leather clutches, handbags and card holders made from ecologically and responsibly sourced leather. I must admit, I fell in love with a couple of clutches that are now on my wishlist…

P1060361

P1060366

P1060365

What I liked about Heidi & Adele’s pieces was the simplicity of design, luxurious feel of the leather and fabulously bright colours. Combined with black finish, they are innovative, eye catching and dazzling with creativity. Just superb!

P1060362

I had a chance to chat to the stylist from Umberto Giannini who recommended a couple of their styling hair products as well!

Another brand I enjoyed meeting was Hire the Catwalk, the online rental of designer dresses for special occasions and event that also featured their pieces on the catwalk. Don’t be caught in the same dress ever again!

P1060409

P1060392

P1060406

I Want Your Clothes – an online fashion shop also showcased their own designs. I liked the girly floral patterns, see though fabrics and colourful jackets! I got myself a pretty floral cropped jumper.

P1060373

P1060372

P1060370

Cheeky Poppins run by Jennifer Chuks offers cool shoe clip-ons you can attach anywhere and anytime to your shoes to transform and customise the design.

P1060425

P1060387

Made of carpet was a different kettle of fish, this online store offers vintage Victorian style bags made from real thick Oriental Rug. I am a fan of large totes so really like the large bag – you can pack your whole day in it!

P1060422

P1060420

P1060423

Apart from the brands I had a chance to meet with fabulous bloggers including Zeena Xena from Blogging Gals and Amy Blaker from Fifty-shadesofblonde.

P1060424

P1060359

At the Social Media Booth run by Lubka Christova I met lovely Jough from JoughBloggs and Khrissie from from KhrissieLoves, to name a few.

P1060427

Another Bloggers Love Hub event tomorrow! Can’t wait!

Animal Print Adventure

I am all for exploring new trends and labels and today I wanted to share a new brand I have recently discovered on theOutnet.

P1050041

P1060054

Mother of Pearl is a cool British label with rich collaboration-infused collections where silhouettes and detailing stay true to the sports luxe aesthetic the brand is so close to. Expect effortless, easy-to-wear silhouettes with eclectic edge.

P1050017

Being a fan of leather, I love this Mother of Pearl anthracite animal print calf hair Leona top I picked up on theOutnet sale.

P1050014

The lightweight leather front, contrasting black satin back panel, and twill trims, make this peplum top a very interesting alternative to cropped jumper or a shirt.

P1050031

P1050030

P1050015

I have teamed it up with Raoul Embossed stretch-jersey leggings-style pants, I also got on theOutnet.

P1050037

Raoul is yet another label I got to love for its contemporary take on classic wardrobe pieces. Singapore-based Raoul’s refined aesthetic juxtapose bold paneling with strong patterns and neat draping.

P1050038

P1050044

P1050042

P1050021

P1050023

I must admit that this Alexander Wang Leather and brushed-twill blazer has become a staple of my heavily leather-laden wardrobe. I picked it up on Yoox sale but it is still available on theOutnet.

P1050010

P1050958

The jacket features very quirky leather halterneck vest-effect front with flap pockets and snap-fastenings through the front.

P1050953

P1050962

P1050955

P1050966

P1050998

Aiming for colour blocking, I chose these gorgeous Alexander Wang Edie Pumice Grey Cut pumps, still available on Yoox.

P1050989

P1050992

Yet again, Wang puts his signature twist on the slingback pump with a side cutout and sharply textured suede in half d’Orsay silhouette. Like all of Alexander Wang’s creations, they are beautifully profiled and comfortable!

Love, love, love!

Wrap me up

I love wrapping myself up in soft and luxurious fabrics that keep the cold at bay and with this beautiful piece, casual wrap up stole is being taken to a whole new level.

P1050380
Acne Studios Neela dramatic wrap was debuted at the label’s Fall ’14 runway show. this gorgeous monochrome stole is crafted from soft wool-blend and backed in black patent leather. I bought it off NET-A-PORTER, unfortunately it has sold out since then.

P1050323

When I saw it on-line earlier in a year, I knew I had to have it. This jacquard stole is so unusual featuring a single long sleeve, funnel neck, softly gathered front with a wrap around effect. You simply slip your arm into the single sleeve, securing it at the shoulders with concealed snap fastenings.

P1050403

It is definitely a bold fashion statement and will surely get you noticed!

I wore Jeager London black wool boucle collarless jacket underneath. You can’t really see its details so I will save it for the next post but it is one of those jackets that fit in seamlessly with almost any outfit. I have been known to wear it from early spring till late autumn months.

P1050364

P1050354

P1050398

I teamed it up with Michael Kors black seamed zipped skinny jeans. I like the combination of black denim and golden zippers.

P1050385

P1050347

P1050344

These stylish MICHAEL KORS jeans definitely add sophisticated versatility to your wardrobe.

P1050339

P1050279

I finished the look of with my foolproof L.K. Bennett Selina Mock Croc Leather Court Shoes. Unfortunately they are now sold out everywhere, you might get lucky and hunt them down on Ebay though.

P1050288

P1050290

Based on a Shilo classic design, they are exceptionally comfortable for a 4 inch heel! Th famously modern silhouette is reinforced by the fresh take on the classic bow design.

How to wear leather this season

As the cold has indeed settled in for good, the leathers are surely my autumn wardrobe constant and this is my take on how to pull the look off without looking overtly attention seeking.

P1040747

P1040761

P1040765

P1040781

I must admit that this Alexander Wang Leather and brushed-twill blazer has become a staple of my heavily leather-laden wardrobe. I picked it up on Yoox sale but is is still available on theoutnet.

P1040787

The jacket features very quirky leather halterneck vest-effect front with flap pockets and snap-fastenings through the front.

P1040790

Alexander Wang’s designs never cease to amaze me. With the urban separates that are perfect for layering, deconstructed pieces, contrasting fabrics with a spot-on finish, Wang undeniably is the king of downtown cool and effortless chic.

P1040863  P1040865
P1040866

P1040871

P1040873

P1040879

Therefore, there is no surprise that I have also gone for yet again another of Wang’s designs – these uber cool Greyser steel grey Kori Cut-out heel textured leather Ankle boots I got on theoutnet sale

P1040832

I love the wedge cut-out leather heel with metal hardware plate that truly makes these boots unique.

P1040828

The elasticated side panels and a pull tab at the rear create no-fuss slip on and off.

P1040826

I must admit, they are very comfortable as well!

P1040822

P1040819
P1040816
P1040813
P1040809

P1040807

For the all-leather look, I went to one of my favourite leather labels – MUUBAA whose head designer Christiana Nicolaou continually redefines what is possible in leather design, pushing boundaries to promote style individuality.

P1040895

I chose this Kalu Black leather skirt which is a classic A-line mini made from ultra soft leather, I picked it up on BrandAlley sale but unfortunately, it is no longer available.

P1040900

The central front zip with exposed teeth and double poppered tab fastening certainly give the skirt a modern twist adding on downtown cool to my look.

P1040902

I wanted to mix leather with a softer yet colour-synchonised top so I went for this JAEGER London colour block black and grey wool T-shirt. Leather and wool go together beautifully. The duo creates an interesting variation of soft and tough textures that off-set each other.

P1040907

This is probably one of those staple quality T-shirts you have in your wardrobe that will go with pretty much anything you wear but in this instance, it was a conscious decision to highlight the steel grey tone of the boots, which I hopefully achieved:).

P1040912

P1040914

P1040916

P1040924
I picked up these Ray Ban Wayfarers to finish off this sleek yet grunge look.
