In the land of grey and pink

Today featuring something for a chillier day….

Flowing coats are one of my favourite outerwear in-between the seasons. This  JAEGER reversible herringbone wool coat has certainly got the air of casual insouciance and it weighs so little, it can be tossed over the shoulders like a shawl – I love its astonishing versatility and flattering fit.

IMG_6400

IMG_6388

Cloud-soft and lightweight, the double-faced grey wool coat is perfect for making an easy transition into a warmer season. Designed to a wrap-around silhouette with a waist-cinching belt, this chic piece is reversible – giving you two tones of grey- cloudy and slightly darker herringbone – to choose from.

IMG_6452

IMG_6348

I wore it with one of my favourite 3.1 Phillip Lim duo: Wool blend mini-skirt and chic grey jumper.

IMG_6495

I love the structured look of this lilac white nylon shell skirt with contrasting flocked wool pattern throughout.

Fluffy lilac grid adds texture and gives the boxy-cut skirt a contemporary spin.

IMG_6499

3.1 Phillip Lim Cash Only Terry Sweater is a cool statement piece for a laid-back style…

IMG_6462

Slim-fitted heathered grey cotton sweater with ribbed round neck, cuffs and hemline, dropped shoulder seams and black raised ”CASH ONLY” textured lettering is a fun way to go about!

I accesorised with Jil Sander‘s sleek and sophisticated and roomy luxe appeal tote. This grape leather tote has been crafted in Italy with a green leather-lined interior and detachable shoulder strap, equipped with multiple pockets to keep your essentials in check, double top handles and protective feet.  Complete with stamped branding and a top zip, your workwear looks will be given an instant lift.

IMG_6422

IMG_6412

IMG_6608

This tote certainly offers an immaculate finish for all four seasons.

The final touches are JAEGER patent grey leather heels with a cute burgundy ribbon and pink sunglasses.

Out for a wander

A few weeks back I headed off to Rochester for a wonder as it was one of these first beautiful sunny weekends following a pretty grim winter… and the smell of Spring was in the air…

I picked this Alexander Wang leather-sleeved wool coat mainly because I am so into charcoal grey these days!

I love the marled wool body with black croc – embossed leather sleeves and  notched lapel-effect collar.
How intoxicating are these shades of violet, tomato-red and grape! It is the ultimate statement making jumper for fuss-free, fashion-forward style.
What else would go better with this cool jumper than equally colour bursting blue leather skirt also by Richard Nicholl?

Alexander Wang takes the ankle bootie through Spring with this stretch mesh “Daga” style that lets your foot breathe! I fell love with its unusual stretch mesh upper fabric and the flattering almond toe!
Skin-baring mesh adds sporty appeal to a leather-trimmed ankle boot with a sky-high, commanding heel.

This structured leather tote mixes practicality with a quirky sense of humour  – the smooth streamlined and sophisticated shape is decorated with the playful and vibrant coloured tikiman (what Mary calls “little pagan robots made up of symbols.”) set against an navy hued background, and features magnetic polished hardware fastening for easy access.

I love the way the gold bar lines up with the straps!

Finally, I accesorised with my favourite Fendi purple sunglasses!  I love the geometric plastic frames and purple lenses, so retro!

Bootylicious…

IMG_4607

As the weather warms up lifting our spirits and shaking off winter blues, this is probably my last wintery outfit this season. As much as I love shearling, I can’t wait to busk in the summer rays!

IMG_4845

Here is a what I wore to the final day at London Fashion Week.
I fell in love with this Duro Olowu Shearling-trimmed wool jacket when I saw it on the Outnet sale. Duro Olowu is a new designer in my wardrobe. Since 2004 when he launched his London label, Nigerian-born Duro, has been wowing with his signature kaleidoscopic and clashing prints full of energy and movement.

I love the fluffy Mongolian-style lamb shearling and sleeves crafted from panels of black wool and monochrome bouclé. Very chic!
I teamed it up with Alexander Wang pleated leather mini skirt. I am a die-hard Wang fan and must admit, this skirt is not only just drop-dead gorgeous to look at but you also feel fabulous wearing it!

Now, when it comes to boots – no one does it better than Alexander Wang. When NET-A-PORTER had a sale earlier in a year, I knew I had to have them!

Worn on the runway at New York Fashion Week, Alexander Wang’s ‘Lovanni’ two tone over the knee boots are one of a kind! With a contrasting slick black and chocolate brown leather, zipped at the back, giving off the classic equestrian feel and comfortable stack wooded white heel that adds an off-beat, contemporary edge making it so easy to walk the city streets, why not make blustery mornings a total pleasure!

The Wang Way

Alexander Wang is one of the most dropped names in fashion circles admired for mixing cutting-edge designs with a laid-back attitude. I love Alexander Wang’s style for blending classic and refined silhouettes with an industrial edge, innovative cut and urban sensibility. His clothes are at all times luxurious, but also provocative, inspiring and wearable.

I opted for this style-meets-function statement-making Alexander Wang dark-gray wool-blend twill coat with weather-ready collar I picked up at Net-a-Porter.

IMG_1165

IMG_1177

The utility pocket was a major detail on the Alexander Wang A/W14 runway, and this cargo coat comes fully equipped, designed to hold all your daily life essentials.  It is finished with a neon-green corduroy collar and multiple, moulded pockets and a lightly padded quilted neon yellow lining.

I love the structured shoulders and a boxy cut that I balanced with these show-stopping Lys Polished leather ankle boots also by Alexander Wang.

There is something incredibly satisfying about wearing his heels, not only does Wang create most coveted accessories each season, but this time he also incorporates the runaway’s utilitarian feel injecting a dose of futuristic style into otherwise, daily-wear pieces.
These super cool Lys boots are crafted from polished-leather with an exaggerated, shield-like front panel. Finished with a well-balanced ostrich-effect heel, this backless,  gorgeous pair look best with shorter hemlines.

To finished off my Wang look, I went for Rocco Dumbo textured-leather tote I picked up from theOutnet.

It is a much coveted and instantly recognisable cult bag featuring a classic satchel form with rock chic style including silver studded base and red pebbled-leather  The iconic bristle studded hardware and duffle-like shape give this fashionista must-have a very sought-after look,
For a hands-free style, carry it by the optional shoulder strap.

The burst of orange

When it comes to fashion, I always get excited with bursts of bright colours. Perhaps, this is why I love this outfit; bold, funky and it makes me smile!

P1060753

This Carven bright orange Faux fur-trimmed wool blend coat combines elegant cuts with directional detailing, it is one of those off-the-wall jackets with a Parisian twist, either you love it or hate it!.
I like its loose fit, detachable collar, buttoned flap pockets and zipped back vent.

I matched orange with yellow going for this Jonathan Saunders Maryse knitted cotton sweater.

The fluorescent peach and yellow juxtaposed against black ribbed trims create an almost intoxicating pattern that you just can’t stop looking at. It is without a doubt, one of my favourite jumpers.

Create a vibrant, off-duty look and team it with leather pants and soaring heels.
Black leather pants always go extraordinarily well with bright tops so I went with these Marc Jacobs Mirah leather trousers with skinny-leg and a horizontal knee-seam.

Taking the City lane

A few weeks back I headed up to the City for the Lord Mayor’s show and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to take pics for my new post in different surroundings. London has got so many of those hidden gem locations to offer and I am about to embark on a journey to discover and feature as many of them as I can!

I have opted to wear this statement Double Faced Pink Apricot Wrap Coat by JAEGER. I love the warm peachy/pink hue juxtaposed against a sumptuous dove grey wool. This stunning coat is made of 100% wool and mid-length style design gives it a dramatic silhouette. What a fabulous way of injecting colour to your autumn wardrobe!
P1060327
P1060331
I bought the coat last year so it is no longer available in stores but still loving the way it feels and looks on!
I am very much into soft grey these days so I chose to accessorize my coat with this beautiful cashmere scarf by British heritage brand Johnstons of Elgin. The label has been creating the finest woolen and cashmere clothing and accessories since 1797 and this scarf is a timeless classic. Made from the most luxurious cashmere, it epitomises minimalist chic and is the perfect addition to any winter outfit!

I put the feminine elegance of the coat against Stella McCartney Zip-trimmed faux leather ankle boots for an unexpected shot of glamour and edge. I love black ankle booties because they are so easy to wear with any assemble. I picked the pair from Outnet some time ago but I still receive so many complements on how lovely they look on. I particularly like the gold zip fastening at the back and almond toe and gold sole.

Gerard Darel is another bag designer I absolutely adore. This Bahia Simple Bag is essentially every woman’s minimalist dream. As the name indicates, the simple bag completely eradicates all the unnecessary design elements imposed upon most of the ‘it bag’. It comes in the most chic and cool of colours with an added timeless feel to it. I love the black leather exterior with the luxury burgundy suede inside. What I find wonderful about it is that it literally holds all my essentials and you still have plenty of room left, perfect for the fast paced ‘tote fan’! The leather has got a slightly rough look but it is unbelievably smooth which adds to its striking character.
